Pairing two seemingly extreme bodies of the animal world, we remember their significance as fertilizing beings, one of the dark earthly realms and the other of the deep undersea world. Each swims and writhes in its own eco-system, enabling the human species to live. The performance is inspired by Joachim Patinier's 16th c. painting “Landscape with Charon Crossing the Styx”. Current research confirms that the ancient river was indeed poisonous, adding to the story of our human final destination of death, and that of the river itself. Collaboration with Nathalie Blanc.
